1.5 hours long, infants from newborn to 12 months and their
parent(s) and grandparents are welcome. Children must be under
12months of age. One class charge per family (twins
included). Class size is limited to 7 families. Please bring a
small blanket or quilt for each baby.
Discover Your Baby in a peaceful, safe play setting that encourages
babies to become attentive, active and curious explorers. Parents
are the natural experts, observing and learning from their own
child, other participants, and from an experienced parent educator.
Focus on what your child can do. Balance baby's needs and your
own. Tune in to your unique child and family circumstance.
Read baby's cues, discover when to intervene or more importantly
when not to. Enjoy your child's unfolding developmental
process. Learn how to create an optimum home environment
without expensive toys or gimmicks.
Lee Fernandez is inspired by the work of infant specialist Magda
Gerber and educator Maria Montessori. She has worked in parent
education and child care as a teacher, trainer and program
administrator for over 40 years. She holds an M.A. Degree in
Human Development from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, CA, is a
certified Montessori Teacher and a Resources for Infant Educarers
(RIE) Alliance Associate.
